This course is intended for employees and supervisors who have previously completed 40- or 24-hour HAZWOPER training at uncontrolled hazardous waste sites. OSHA requires eight hours of yearly Hazwoper refresher training, which this course fulfills.

The objective of the refresher program is to ensure that the personnel remains qualified and updated on safety measures related to hazardous material operations. At a minimal cost, this 100% online course meets OSHA's 8-hour HAZWOPER refresher training requirement. After completing their program, students can quickly get a Certificate of Completion.

The eight-module curriculum takes a minimum of 8 hours to finish, and students have a year after purchase to complete it. Modules conclude with a quick quiz, and the final exam consists of 20 questions. You have an unrestricted number of opportunities to complete assessments as well as the final exam, which requires at least a 70% score.

Every year, employees in uncontrolled hazardous waste operations and those involved in emergency response actions must take eight hours of HAZWOPER refresher training. If you have completed 40-hour or 24-hour HAZWOPER training, you must attend an 8-hour HAZWOPER Refresher course every year as required by OSHA Standard 29 CFR 1910.120.

Refresher training is required for the following roles at HAZWOPER sites:

  • Operators of heavy machinery
  • General workers
  • Technicians in hazardous materials
  • Hazardous materials experts
  • Supervisors of hazardous materials
  • On-the-spot incident commanders
  • Other generic construction workers
  • Management and supervisory employees on-site

Workers must complete eight hours of HAZWOPER Refresher training within 12 months of their last HAZWOPER training anniversary date. Employees who do not achieve this criterion may be required to redo their initial training.
